ORDER:

The Director of Municipal Administration, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, in the letter 3rd read above, has submitted proposals for constitution of Machilipatnam Municipality as Municipal Corporation, as it satisfied the criteria fixed in the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations (Fixation of Criteria for Specification of Larger Urban Areas) Rules, 1994 issued in G.O.Ms.No.449, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (Elec-I) Department, dated.18.08.1994  as amended in G.O.Ms.No.571, Municipal Administration & Urban Development    (Elec-II) Department, dated.14.09.2009.

2)      And whereas the Municipal Council, Machilipatnam Municipality, in its Resolution No.220, dated.30.09.2015, has resolved to constitute Machilipatnam Municipality as Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation.

3)      Now, therefore, the Government, after careful examination of the matter decided to specify the areas covered under the Machilipatnam Municipality as ‘Larger Urban Area’ under clause (d) of section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994.

4)      The appended Notification will be published in an Extra-ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 10.12.2015.

5)      The Commissioner of Printing, Stationary and Stores Purchase (printing wing), A.P., Hyderabad is requested to furnish 100 copies of the Gazette containing the Notification to the Government.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (d) of Section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act No.25 of 1994) read with rule 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations (Fixation of Criteria for Specification of Larger Urban Areas) Rules, 1994, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby declare the areas covered under Machilipatnam Municipality, Krishna District as Larger Urban Area with immediate effect in the name of Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation.
